COVID-19 Safety

We are continuing to do our part in maintaining a clean and sanitized environment for our employees, guests and greater community. We’d like to highlight the enhanced safety measures taken daily at Captain’s Table:

*All employees are evaluated upon arrival and given a temperature check; employees that feel ill or display symptoms must stay home.

*Staff is adhering to policies and procedures that promote excellent hygiene, which includes face masks: front of house, back of house, management and valet attendants.

*All tables are spaced six feet apart to comply with social distancing standards in addition to occupancy regulations.

*We have removed all preset items on tables and now offer a “touch-less” dining experience which includes: disposable paper menus, single use salt and pepper, disposable linen napkins and single-use condiments.

*We continue to maintain a high standard of sanitation efforts utilizing commercial grade disinfectant, with a focus on high-touch areas.

*We have increased staff levels to maintain a clean and maintained environment.

*Sanitizer stations are located throughout the restaurant for guests to use upon entering and leaving.

*Management provides ongoing training of best practices.

We appreciate our guests’ individual efforts to practice excellent hygiene and the recommended social distancing within our establishment. Management will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed. Our mission has always been quality food and quality service in a clean and well maintained environment.

As we prepare to reopen Monday, May 1, 2020, we are continuing to do our part in maintaining a clean and sanitized environment for our team members, guests and greater community. We have implemented the following procedures at Captain’s Table in response to reopening:

*We are limiting guest capacity and increasing space between tables to comply with the Governor’s order and CDC’s guidelines for social distancing

*We have removed all preset items on tables and now offer a “touch-less” dining experience which includes: disposable paper menus, single use salt and pepper, silverware rolled in disposable linen napkins and freshly sanitized condiments brought to table upon request

*We continue to maintain a high standard of sanitization efforts utilizing commercial grade disinfectant, with a focus on high-touch areas

*Staff is adhering to policies and procedures that promote excellent hygiene which includes face masks

*We have increased staff levels to maintain a clean and maintained environment

*Sanitizer is provided for guests upon entering and leaving our establishment

*Staff members are required to stay home if they feel ill and are following the recommendations of the CDC

*Management provides ongoing training of best practices

The safety of our Guests and Associates is the highest priority to us. We have implemented many additional safeguards to ensure your safety and enjoyment. We are evaluating all our procedures daily and reacting immediately to anything we can do in which will heighten our effectiveness to create the safest environment. Since 1992 when our Company was formed there have been three company principals that have guided us. The first being Health and making sure we have the concern of our Guest and Associates health as a priority.

The Captain’s Table is featuerd on VisitFlorida.com’s profile of Punta Gorda’s Three Suns Ranch which supplies grass-fed, holistically raised bison, wild hog and cattle to local restaurants. An excerpt follows:

“Florida is naturally famous for its seafood — but locally raised meat like bison from Three Suns can easily fit into the mix, said Todd Volpe, executive chef at The Captain’s Table on Charlotte Harbor, in Punta Gorda.

‘We’re 30 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico and 30 minutes from the country, where Three Suns is,’ said Volpe, who came away impressed after visiting the ranch.

The Captain’s Table serves up bison burgers with leeks, bacon, and crumbled blue cheese on its bar menu a few times a week. ‘They usually sell out,’ Volpe said. ‘It’s our number-three selling sandwich, behind lobster grilled cheese and the grouper sandwich.’

The Captain’s Table also features wild hog, marinated Jamaican jerk style along with a dark rum barbecue sauce, Volpe said. He makes sure that any of the meat he buys and prepares from Three Suns still fits into the Asian/Caribbean fusion served at the restaurant.”
